Unique and quirky self-catering accommodation in West Cornwall

Enys Boathouse provides versatile self-catering accommodation in West Cornwall. This unique holiday let can be set up in a variety of ways to accommodate a maximum of 5 people, but is generally let on the basis of four – two adults and two children.

Access to the property is via a small staircase and you arrive on the balcony, which boasts views out over Porkellis Moor and the Cornish countryside beyond.

The unique wooden structure is deceptively spacious, with the living and dining area doubling up as the bedroom. A comfy double sofa bed provides the main seating for the living space but there is also a day bed (which doubles as a sofa) and another small tub chair, so there’s plenty of space for the family. The living space also flows into the dining room and then out onto the balcony – perfect for long summer evenings!

bedroomAnd so to bed…

As this is a studio-style space, the living area doubles as the main sleeping area too. The central sofa bed pulls out into a king size bed and there is also a day bed, which doubles as a sofa during the day but can easily convert into a single or double bed…

IMG_2062There are also two further single beds, located in the Crow’s Nest – a cosy sleeping environment up in the rafters of this quirky property. The Crow’s Nest is ideal for young children but is easily spacious enough for two adults, should you prefer. The Crow’s Nest is accessed via a pull-down loft ladder, which folds away when the beds are not in use. Due to access, we recommend that children only over the age of 5 sleep up here. All bedding is provided. A quick video guide to using the loft ladder can be found here

IMG_2051When the beds are not in use, the open plan living space is great for entertaining. A TV, with Freeview, DVD player (with selection of DVDs), and digital radio (with bluetooth media streaming) are included. There’s also plenty of books and magazines to read and guest can also make use of the Ordnance and Survey maps of the area. High speed WiFi is also available completely free of charge!

IMG_2053A sailor’s kitchen – complete with pots, pans and all utensils – awaits those who enjoy cooking. Other kitchen facilities include:

  • Microwave
  • Portable Oven and hob
  • Small fridge and freezer
  • Fold-away surface space
  • Kettle
  • On-demand hot water

Should you wish to fire up the BBQ, there is one located in the ground floor washroom. WiFI is also available. Elsewhere, there is also a small dining table and, for when the sun is shining, an outdoor table, chairs and parasol are also at hand.
